Arkansas Department of Emergency Management

The department administers the State Individual Assistance Program. State individual assistance is for qualified homeowners and renters whose residence was damaged or destroyed in a disaster. The residence must be in an area designated for the aid. Contact the department’s call center (888-683-2336) or visit a Disaster Recovery Center (if available) to learn more and apply. The department will announce when the call center and recovery centers are activated for a disaster, as well as any recovery center locations.

The department’s website provides information on other sources of assistance. Local emergency managers can offer additional information on local disaster recovery services and resources. The department also works with local governments and other eligible entities to apply for funding provided by federal Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant programs. These programs provide funding to pay for measures that reduce the community’s risk of flooding.
